Visit Miss Nelson’s blog for a chance to win $25 to Erin Condren’s shop! I just placed an order there yesterday for a desk pad and an iPad sticker! I am SO excited to use the desk pad during the next school year for all of my to-do lists and ideas for my class blog and TPT! I have been looking for something cute to add to my iPad, but I’m not crazy about the clip-on cases. My iPad sticker will be personalized and it will be pink with multi-colored dots! I’m so excited for them to arrive next week!

Since I’ve been working on my National Board Certification for the past year, I’ve let my time spent running lapse a bit… Every night for at least the past 8 months I’ve left school, driven an hour home, and worked on my EC-GEN portfolio until it was time for bed. Then, I’d get up and do it all over again. My weekends were filled with portfolio work and focus chats at ecgen.org.
I HAVE HAD NO TIME FOR RUNNING… and now I’m out of shape! I miss running and I am so happy to finally have time to retrain myself. Scott and I are hoping to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half-Marathon in Savannah, Georgia this November. We also have the Peachtree Road Race coming up this 4th of July, so I’ve got a lot of work to do! I’ve been using Daily Mile to keep me on track. Add me as a friend if you have an account!

Sweetwater 420 Fest!

Today was the Sweetwater 420 Fest! This festival has become a favorite that Scott and I attend each year. We started off the day with a 5k run through the Candler Park neighborhood. The hills on this course make it a challenge!

During the run, I enjoyed looking at all of the houses in the neighborhood. If I lived downtown, I would definitely choose the Candler Park neighborhood. Every house is so cute with a picket fence and a big front porch! Our next house is definitely going to have a front porch and a swing! This house was one of my favorites from today…

After the race, we went into the festival and browsed the craft booths. I love looking for unique items and also searching for new craft ideas. We found an artist from Athens, GA that creates artwork from old Coke bottles. He finds them in antique stores and then melts the glass. We found the 1983 Auburn SEC Championship bottle!

Since I have the best husband in the world, he bought me this beautiful necklace and earrings! ❤

These recycled crafts were the cutest things ever! I really want to try to create one of my own. The owls with the silverware feet were my favorite!

We listened to live music for a while and then played my most favorite game ever… Skee-Ball! I beat Scott with a score of 290 and won a T-shirt! Did you know that there is an actual Skee-Ball league? It actually sounded like fun! ☺ On the way back to the car, we had a Watermelon Mojito popsicle from King of Pops! Days like this remind me why I love living in Atlanta! Happy Saturday!
